How to Improve Your Golf Swing



Even the novice golf player understands that your swing can make or break your game. For the less advanced players, this means that if you do not know how to improve your golf swing, you will never be able to play like your favorite golfing super star.

However, mastering proper golf swing does not happen overnight, and it may take months or even years for you to get to where you would like to be. Some people may argue, as they believe a swing is nothing more than a simple body movement that allows you to hit the ball and let it fly onto the air and land onto the green. This is just how it appears to be. In reality, a proper golf swing entails the correct positioning of the hands on the golf club, the awareness of the swing plane and the spine angle, and the use of the correct golf club. Missing any one of these factors, you will not be able to send the ball to where you want it to.

To improve your golf swing, we will have to first discuss a difficult concept – swing plane. To put it simple, a swing plane is the area in which your golf club can swing in a circular arc and be able to move in that plane. So, if you can keep the head of your club within that plane, you will be able to make a good swing. However, this does not mean you have to force your club into the swing plane. Rather, you can use it as a means to test your swings and identify where you can improve on. Due to different body weight and height, no two players will have the same swing. Therefore, it makes no sense for one player to copy another one’s swing.

There are a number of ways golfers are using to improve their swing, and here is a partial list:

- Get your coach or trainer to watch you play and give you feedback. Correct your faults by following the advice and demonstration given by your instructor. This can be a very effective way to improve your skill.

- Make use of a swing analyzing software, and compare your swing with other players’. This way, you also get an immediate feedback on your performance and pinpoint the areas to be improved in your subsequent swings.

- Record your swings and study them later on, and consult an expert only if you are unable to identify what you did incorrectly.

Improper hand and body position, or body and ball distance, can all lead to a bad swing. You will only be able to master the correct swing techniques by constantly analyzing and improve upon your performance.

Improve Your Golf Swing Today



If you are a golfer then the most important trick of your trade is your swing. The importance of a good swing can never be over emphasized. It is by far the most important skill that a golfer can acquire. If a good swing is part of your repertoire then your game should improve by leaps and bounds. The first drive is always the most important one of the game. Making it into or close to the green should be your aim because that might decide whether or not you reach par. The following are some small details which might help you master that elusive golf swing.

Contrary to popular belief, the perfect swing is not really about the powerful arms of the golfer. What you need to learn and master is bringing your whole body to direct a concentrated and powerful swing of the club. Only strong arms is not going to get you that. Remember more power and more control means better swing. Your entire body is going to turn with your club, but don’t forget to keep your legs facing the ball. Also, your leading arm should not be bent at all. For a backswing, the force should come from right around your body. This helps to gather the power before the final swing.

Cocking the wrists is one of the most important aspects of a good swing. It can make or break your game. Remember that your leading or playing arm should always be over the swing. This means that you shall look like a waiter holding a tray, which is actually the perfect position to be in. However, this has to be practiced at least daily before you can do it effortlessly. It also helps in building powerful wrists.

The feet should be right – This is one of the most common mistakes made by a first time golfer. Never, and I mean NEVER break your stance. You need your perfect stance to maintain a controlled and powerful swing. Never lose your concentration.The front foot should generally be placed firmly on the ground. No matter how great the power, do not move the front foot. You might twist your back foot to gain the momentum but the front foot stays in its place.

Eyes on the ball – There is a very easy way to ensure that your eyes never leave that ball. Before you start your swing, make sure that your buckle faces the ball. Once you do that, there will be no way you can be looking elsewhere. At the end of the shot, your buckle should be directed exactly at the place where your ball should land. But don’t forget to keep the feet on the ground. Never lift them from the ground. When your entire body is thus concentrated on the shot, it is bound to be good.

Practice – This is the most basic and the most relevant tip of all. Practice and practice. There is really no replacement for this. Think about your play. Concentrate on your form, and then on your speed and power. Analyze your style. Tape yourself so that you can see it and pick out the errors later. Follow this and see your game improve.

Tennis Lessons – Basic Tennis Stroke Tips



Learning basic tennis strokes is essential to setting the stage for better play in the future. Fail to learn these basics early on and you will struggle with overcoming bad playing habits for years to come.

While there are a variety of strokes that new and advanced players can use in tennis, the novice should concentrate on the two main strokes first, before moving on to the more advanced techniques and movements used in more advanced play.

There are two basic tennis strokes that every player must master in order to be competent on the court: the groundstroke and the overhead. These are necessary in order to compete on any level, and should be mastered first.

The best way to learn proper stroke technique is to find a trained coach to get you started on a lifelong enjoyment of the game. Most newcomers to tennis spend a few months perfecting their technique and game with a trainer before hitting the courts on their own. If this is not an option, these simple tips should help get you started learning the two basic strokes listed above.

When learning the groundstroke, remember these important guidelines:

1: Always begin your groundstroke with a slight, short backswing.

2: Use a shortened grip on the club until mastering this all-important tennis stroke

3: Use a regular type of follow-through. Don’t try to be fancy here. The important thing is to learn the stroke first.

4: Try lengthening your backswing at a slow pace.

5: Slide the grip toward the handle.

6: Remember, in basic tennis for beginners, you will drop feed first! Second, doing your short drop feed is fine, and lastly, following the short drop feed, you will feed from your racquet.

7: Begin slowly and usually try to end with a run.

When practicing overheads, be sure to:

1: Begin your swing at point of contact, slowly presenting a bigger swing can

2: Stand close to the net, followed by slowly moving backward.

3: Begin with an incredibly soft-feed right to the racquet.

4: Practice for short periods of time (less than 30 minutes) in order to not tire your arm and stay fresh and alert. Some players, however, many find that they get so lost in the game that they can practice for hours. If this is the case, and you aren’t experiencing any negative side effects (swollen tendons and muscles or overall arm soreness), than by all means practice away! No matter how long your practice session, be sure to have them frequently. Several times a week is most commonly recommended, especially for beginners.

5: Begin advanced drills as soon as you’ve mastered this basic swing Whatever swing you’re working on, always be sure to practice precise technique, featuring the exact form and bodylines needed, and proper movements!
